Yoga In The Park

Yoga in the Park was a fundraiser held at Fairy Lake in support of Walk It Off, Spinal Cord Recovery and Wellness Centre, a non-profit organization that opened in Newmarket in 2011. The centre provides exercise-based recovery, education and support to those living with a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) throughout the GTA and beyond. With the help of trained SCI Recovery Specialists the aim is to improve quality of life and increase independence by maximizing recovery using exercise-based techniques which are new to Canada. The centre's president Heather Mills orchestrated the event as her husband experienced a spinal cord injury.
